Recently, Amazon is testing a scanner that recognizes human hands and regards the hand as a new payment method. If it goes smoothly, hand recognition payment will be launched in Amazon subordinate Whole Foods Market in the coming months.
Unlike fingerprint recognition, this scanner need not require users to physically touch their hands to the scanning surface. Instead, the scanner use computer vision and depth geometry to process and identify the shape and size of each hand before charging the archived credit card. The payment can be finished within 0.3 second.
